Dear Prime Minister,
On October 29, the CEO of Qantas shut down Australia's national airline, stranding 70,000 passengers and holding the Australian economy to ransom.
The fact that this was done with no notice shows the current laws do not provide Australia's aviation industry and economy enough protection from militant bosses.
We need to protect aviation jobs from outsourcing and offshoring to ensure that the Australian aviation industry is best practise for safety and standards.
We call on you to do your part in creating:
- A safe Aviation Industry: a highly skilled, safety/security trained workforce for Australia's aviation industry
- A fair Aviation Industry: where employees of every airline operating in Australia receive fair and equal wages, ensuring a level playing field
- A strong Australian Aviation Industry: where skills are not sent offshore
